Exploring Records for a Reconciliation

Reconciling files is only the first step — understanding how the data aligns (or doesn’t) is where the real value comes in. That’s where Explore Records in BoxPay Reconciliations helps.

The Explore Records tab allows you to:

  • List all reconciled records for a selected reconciliation.
  • Drill down into details of each record, so you can trace back to the original files.
  • Get complete visibility into statuses, values, and data lineage.

Key Features

1. Reconciled Records Listing

Once files are processed, the Explore Records view shows you a table of reconciled records. Each row represents a consolidated record after applying the reconciliation rules.

You can filter or search to quickly locate specific records of interest.

2. Drill-Down View

Clicking on any record opens a detailed breakdown:

  • Original File Data → View the raw data from each contributing file set.
  • Reconciliation Status → See if the record is matched, mismatched, missing, or in any other configured status.
  • Recon Value → Review the key reconciliation value(s) (e.g., amounts, IDs) that were used to align records.
  • Record & Recon Dates → Understand the timeline by comparing when the record was created vs. when it was reconciled.
  • File Traceability → Inspect all files that contributed to this reconciled record, ensuring transparency across data sources.

3. Practical Uses

  • Audit & Compliance: Demonstrate exactly how a reconciled record was derived.
  • Exception Handling: Quickly locate mismatched or missing records and take corrective action.
  • Transparency Across Teams: Operations, finance, and audit teams can all access the same detailed data.

Why It Matters

Reconciliation is not just about the numbers matching up. Businesses often need to prove why and how a record was reconciled. The Explore Records feature makes BoxPay a true end-to-end reconciliation solution by giving you that transparency and control.

👉 With Explore Records, you don’t just reconcile your data — you understand it.
